Don't make SAT test day even more stressful by arriving unprepared. Be honest with yourself about how much time you need to practice for the SAT. If you realize you need the buy paper online and homework, take the time. The great thing is that you can take the SAT more than once. Check the testing center's SAT calendar at the beginning of the year; this way you know how long you have to prepare. Take these tips into consideration during your SAT training and make the most out of your preparation. Just think of how great it will feel to see the score that you want!

Eat, Drink, Sleep

You will perform much better on test day if you focus on eating well, staying hydrated, and getting a solid night's rest before the test. Practice some basic Yoga stretches the morning of your test to clear your mind and sharpen your focus for the rest of the day. Foods like blueberries, salmon, mixed nuts, coffee, avocado, eggs, dark chocolate, and peppermint are highly effective for the brain and will help improve memory, mood, concentration, and overall clarity. Definitely do not skip breakfast the day of the test! You will get a twenty-minute break during the exam, so make sure to pack a hearty snack to reboot your brain.

Don't Be Afraid To Guess

Some students are tempted not to guess on the SAT, because they hear that students are penalized a fraction of a point for each wrong answer. But a fraction of a point is not a substantial amount, and if you use process of elimination you may guess right. If you can narrow down your selection to one or two answers, the odds are in your favor for guessing. There is a portion of the SAT math that contains no choices. Instead, you must come up with the answer and fill it into a grid. No points are subtracted for wrong answers on this grid-in portion of the math test, so if you can come up with a close estimate, it is still a wise idea to guess.

Give yourself time in the morning so that you don't feel rushed. Pack your bag the night before and remember to bring your admissions ticket, valid photo ID, No.2 pencil(s), calculator, water, and a good snack. The most important thing you can do is keep track of the time and remember to take deep breaths. GOOD LUCK!
